To port a US or Canada fax number, email support@hellofax.com with your current fax number and the name of the current carrier the number is with.
If you live outside the US or Canada, I'm afraid we will not be able to port your number at this time, and you will not receive a response from us. But you can always submit a request, as we are keeping track of the countries we do not yet offer porting to.
Once we receive your request, we'll verify whether or not we can port your number. You'll get a response from us either way within 1-2 business days. If we are able to port your number, we'll then ask you to fill out a Letter of Authorization form which we will forward to you. We'll also need the most recent copy of your invoice from your current provider to serve as proof that you own the number.
You can find more information on how to fill our LOA out here:
How Do I Fill Out The Porting LOA? (HelloFax_LOA_USA)
Once both of the documents are submitted, we'll start the port request. After the request has been started, we'll ask you to sign up for a paid Professional-level subscription (please visit our pricing page) and you'll be assigned a temporary number by our system. You can choose to keep the number you're assigned for an extra $4.99 a month or we can swap it out with the number you are porting once it's accepted.
After the porting process is complete, we'll add the ported number to your account and assess a one-time $60 porting fee for each line that is ported over.
On the day your number becomes active with our service. anyone sending you a fax will have to dial the "1" at the beginning of the number, or else the fax will not go through.
