Creating and editing Dropbox Sign templates in HubSpot is only available for the upgraded Dropbox Sign for HubSpot integration. The number of templates you can have depends on which plan you’re on. |
With the upgraded Dropbox Sign for HubSpot integration, you can create and edit Dropbox Sign templates directly in HubSpot without leaving the app.
How to create a template in HubSpot
To create a template in HubSpot:
1. Sign in to app.hubspot.com.
2. Click Actions in the Dropbox Sign CRM card.
3. Click Create template in the dropdown.
4. Select the document(s) you’d like to add to your template.
- Click Upload file and follow the prompts, or drag and drop files where it says Drag and drop files here.
5. Once you’ve added all your files, click Next.
6. Add up to 20 signer roles. For example, if you’re creating a template for a sales agreement, you may want to add two roles—a “Buyer” and a “Seller”.
7. Click Next.
8. Click and drag the fields you’d like to add from the left sidebar to your document. Learn more about using the Dropbox Sign editor.
- Note: If there’s information you want to autofill from your HubSpot records, you can add a HubSpot property in the template.
9. Once you’ve added all your fields, click Next.
10. Add a template title.
- Note: If you use a colon in your title, include a space after it. If there’s no space after the colon, the template title may cause issues.
11. If you’d like, you can also add up to 5 CC recipients and a default message for signers as well.
12. Click Save template.
13. Click Return to HubSpot.

How to edit a template in HubSpot
To edit a template in HubSpot:
1. Sign in to app.hubspot.com.
2. Click Actions in the Dropbox Sign CRM card.
3. Click Edit template.
4. Click the template you’d like to edit.
- Note: You can edit templates from any source, whether it was created on hellosign.com, in HubSpot, or with another integration.
5. Upload or remove files as needed, then click Next.
6. Edit signer roles as needed, then click Next.
7. Edit signature fields and HubSpot properties as needed, then click Next.
8. Edit the template title or default message, if you’d like.
9. Click Save template.
10. Click Return to HubSpot or Share template.
If you click Return to HubSpot, you’ll be taken back to HubSpot. If you click Share template, you’ll be able to manage who has access to your templates.
